Summary:

Father-in-Law Chooses Son-in-Law is about Once upon a time, there was an elderly man and an elderly woman living in a village. This elderly couple had a very beautiful daughter, whom they held in high esteem. No matter who came to ask for her hand in marriage, they would not readily agree unless the suitor was someone who could never speak ill of his own mother. By this standard, they would then permit their daughter to marry such an individual.
