Having delved into this captivating drama series last year, I was pleasantly surprised by its ability to keep me engaged throughout. Typically quick to lose interest in dramas, I was astounded to find myself eagerly watching each episode. While the initial stages may feel slightly slow, particularly in the family-centric scenes, my focus gravitated towards the evolving relationship between the main characters. Approximately around the middle of the series, I found myself fully immersed, eagerly awaiting each new development.
The interactions among the diverse array of...characters were a standout feature for me. Their dynamic relationships were not only entertaining but also shed light on various facets of Korean culture, which I found intriguing. What truly sets this series apart is the absence of frustrating or detestable characters. Each individual, including the initially irksome ones, such as the jealous rara, undergoes a transformation, making them endearing in their own right. This departure from the typical trope of infuriating characters, especially among the main leads, was a refreshing change that kept me invested in the narrative.
The romance depicted in the series was a definite highlight. Despite the somewhat fantastical nature of the storyline, the connection between the main characters felt authentic and deeply passionate. I couldn't help but fall for the charm of the character Ah Damo, a rare occurrence for me. Dan Saran, with her strength of character and occasional flaws, added depth to the romantic subplot, making it all the more engaging.
For viewers seeking a blend of heartwarming family moments and intense romantic entanglements, this series offers a perfect mix. With a dose of humor and stellar performances, the show manages to rise above its somewhat cliched plot. While it may not be a candidate for rewatching due to its length, I have found myself revisiting certain scenes for a good laugh, a testament to its enduring appeal. -

Having completed this series, I must highlight its remarkable portrayal of a common theme involving a young woman from modest means and a wealthy young man. The dark satire infused with humor throughout the storyline had me immensely entertained. The stellar performances by the ensemble cast, the well-crafted script, and the visually appealing aesthetic of the series all contributed to its excellence. This is not your typical light romantic comedy or over-the-top melodrama; instead, it cleverly deconstructs a cliched narrative while delving into the pervasive...
impact of corruption on individuals and families across different societal levels. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of watching this series and found it disappointing that it concluded prematurely, leaving me yearning for more. Undoubtedly, this series was a strong contender for the prestigious Baeksang Award and rightfully deserved accolades for its exceptional quality.

While most episodes in this series were captivating, a few lagged behind with minimal progress. The ending, however, felt rushed and failed to address the numerous loose ends, unanswered questions, and unresolved plot points. It appeared as though the series may have been truncated by a couple of episodes, which was disappointing as those additional segments were necessary to bring proper closure to the story. Despite my overall enjoyment of the series, the abrupt and incomplete finale resulted in a lowered rating from me....

Prepare to have your emotions captivated by this extraordinary drama! While family dramas may not always be at the top of my watchlist, I am grateful to have stumbled upon this gem. The performances delivered by Im Soo Hyang as Sa Ran and Sung Hoon as Da Mo are nothing short of enchanting - their on-screen chemistry is sure to tug at your heartstrings. Even the seemingly antagonistic characters possess a certain charm that makes them oddly endearing.
Although the subplot involving possession may have felt...a bit drawn out, it ultimately adds layers to the narrative. What truly sets this drama apart is its commitment to portraying a relationship in its entirety - from the initial spark to the trials of heartbreak, leading all the way to the joys of marriage and parenthood. It's a complete and fulfilling journey that resonates deeply with viewers.
Sung Hoon's debut performance in this drama is a revelation. Witnessing his character's evolution from a typical spoiled rich kid to a mature individual is a testament to his acting prowess. And despite the length of the series, the emotional intensity of the final moments will undoubtedly leave you craving for more, showcasing the actors' ability to evoke genuine emotions.
Just like a fine masterpiece, this drama will leave you in awe with its ability to stir your soul - it's a rare gem that lingers in your memory long after the credits roll. -

This drama captivates with its unique approach to a seemingly simple storyline. Infused with a subtle humor that will have you laughing throughout, it delicately balances moments of sadness without veering into melodrama. Through its narrative, the series explores themes of ethics and proper conduct, reminding viewers that being morally upright does not guarantee happiness, and that money cannot buy true contentment. It challenges the notion of blindly adhering to tradition, suggesting that some customs are meant to evolve with time.
Yoo Joon Sang delivers a...standout performance as Han Jeong Ho, showcasing impeccable expressions that truly immerse viewers in his character's journey. While Yoo Jo Jeong's portrayal of Choi Yeon Hee is decent, there is a slight disconnect that prevents full empathy for her character. Lee Joon's evolution as Han In Sang is a highlight, effectively depicting his inner turmoil. Go Ah Sung emerges as a force to be reckoned with, embodying Seo Bom's strength and dignity flawlessly.
The series' musical score provides a fitting backdrop without overshadowing the storytelling. While not a rewatch candidate for me, I recommend this drama to those seeking thought-provoking narratives over high-octane excitement. If you appreciate dramas that provoke introspection, this one is worth your time.
