Overall 9.5
Story 9.5, Acting 9, Music 8, Rewatch Value 9
From the moment I started watching this TV series, I was completely captivated until the very end. I must say, Vincent Wong's performance in his previous work caught my attention, so naturally, I was curious to explore more of his talents. This series proved that he has a knack for choosing complex and challenging roles, from portraying a character with dissociative identity disorder to playing a blind man - he truly excelled.
The intro and outro visuals, as well as the songs, were all beautifully done....There was one song with full English lyrics during the more intimate scenes that caught my attention, although I'm not sure if it was an original soundtrack or not. Overall, the music scores were enjoyable to listen to, but I have a feeling they may not be memorable in the long run.
In terms of production, direction, and cinematography, everything was executed at a decent level. While I wasn't particularly blown away, there was nothing that stood out as being bad either. The flirting scenes between the judge and the other characters were both spicy and elegant, with the cinematography adding an artistic touch.
Although I started watching this series primarily for Vincent Wong, I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the cast. Every actor delivered great performances that made me truly believe in their characters. Their acting felt natural, drawing me into their world and making it easy to follow the story. It's always a plus when the acting is top-notch and doesn't distract the viewer from the narrative.
Let's talk about the characters. The main lead, portrayed by Vincent Wong, is a fascinating individual. He embodies the phrase "justice is blind." He is smart, witty, good-looking, but also hot-headed and stubborn. Behind his tough exterior, he carries a lot of pain from a difficult past. At first glance, it may seem like he only cares about money, but if you peel back the layers, you'll discover a golden heart. He may keep his distance and have a small circle of friends, but he is undeniably adorable, trustworthy, and reliable.
Now, onto the real heroine of the series, Deanie, played by an exceptional actress. She is a badass when it comes to protecting her loved ones and is an incredible friend. Her loyalty is truly something to treasure, as she never asks for anything in return. Time and time again, she falls down but always manages to stand back up. She continuously supports and encourages the main lead without expecting anything in return. She is the epitome of unconditional love, whether it be romantic or any other form. Without a doubt, she is my favorite character among them all.
And let's not forget about the second male lead, played by [Actor]. I have to disagree with the drama's main page description of him being a supportive character. To me, he is more than that. He is almost the perfect boyfriend material - funny, sexy, and playful. Eager to take revenge due to past wrongs, but always striving to do so using the right means.
Lastly, the second female lead, who is hot, beautiful, smart, and brave. She is also a friend the team can rely on. It's refreshing to see such a strong emphasis on friendship throughout the series. Additionally, her flirting skills are incredible, complemented by her impressive dancing moves. But don't be fooled by appearances, she is far from being "easy."
One extra credit goes to a character named "Golden," but I won't reveal who he/she is - that's for you to find out!
The strongest aspect of this drama is undoubtedly the story. It sets itself apart from typical law dramas, not only because the main lead is a blind lawyer, which is unique and interesting in itself, but also because of the compelling and touching law cases presented. Each case spans multiple episodes, ensuring a good pace that never feels boring. What makes these cases resonate is the emphasis on "minorities" - the lawyer chooses to defend the underrepresented, those society views as outcasts. This includes stories about transgenders, gays, lesbians, as well as individuals with disabilities. The series sends a message that despite our differences, we are all humans with beating hearts and emotions. I commend the drama for tackling these heartwarming stories without delving into melodrama. There is a realistic but light touch throughout, balancing the sad or harsh moments with equally sweet and funny ones.
Moreover, the bond and dynamic among the team are truly outstanding. Although they all pretend to be tough, they genuinely care for and love each other. Their loyalty is priceless, and witnessing their friendship unfold adds another layer of depth to the series. These are the type of friends we all crave in real life.
In later episodes, the focus shifts from the law cases to the personal lives of our protagonists, making the drama even more exciting and intriguing. I have already become invested in this team, and I am ready to dive into the next season.
