  In terms of the cast, the performances were decent, if not exceptional. Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop possessed a certain charm that drew viewers in, despite their shortcomings as actors. However, it was Kwak Shi Yang who truly stole the spotlight as the captivating antagonist. His portrayal was simply mesmerizing, leaving a lasting impression.
  
  Unfortunately, amidst the positive aspects, there were quite a few negatives that dampened the overall experience. The series seemed to rely heavily on "convenient" plotholes, using them as a means to escape from difficult situations. It felt like lazy writing, with random and haphazard resolutions appearing out of thin air to resolve conflicts.
  
  Furthermore, the main character's condition seemed inconsistent with his actions. Despite being blind, he moved with such ease and grace that it was almost unbelievable. He even rode horses, which seemed far-fetched given his visual impairment. Additionally, the inclusion of his ability to predict the future by reading the stars felt forced and improbable—just another way for the creators to suspend our disbelief, as if we would unquestioningly accept such a notion.
  
  One character, in particular, stood out as the most obnoxious and entitled female lead in a Korean historical drama. Her behavior, especially during a painting contest, was reminiscent of a spoiled child throwing a tantrum. The idea that one could hear brushstrokes and decipher the content of a painting based on sound alone felt contrived and unrealistic.
  
  Lastly, the potential for the royal shaman to play a more significant role was wasted. She seemed to hover in a gray area, neither good nor completely evil. It was expected that she would have a grand moment during the final ritual, redeeming herself and saving the kingdom. However, her sudden demise without any real impact left viewers feeling disappointed and dissatisfied.
  
  While the initial episodes of this series held promise, the latter half failed to live up to expectations. Predictability plagued the plotlines, leaving little room for surprise or excitement. It became a mere obligation to finish watching, akin to completing a task for the sake of reporting.
  
  In conclusion, this is not a series I would choose to rewatch. Furthermore, I find it difficult to wholeheartedly recommend it when there are numerous other dramas that offer a superior viewing experience.

However, I was still hoping for a decent drama with average ratings. Unfortunately, I found it hard to stay engaged after the first few episodes. I was praying for improvement, but eventually had to fast forward to the end just for closure.

As adults, they are drawn into a web of palace intrigue and power struggles, all leading to the ultimate goal of sealing the demon once again.
  
  The cast, especially the experienced actors in supporting roles, delivered commendable performances. However, I must admit that I was disappointed by the acting of the main cast. They had the potential to shine but fell short, offering underwhelming performances.
  
  The drama did have its share of questionable choices, such as a kiss scene between the child actors playing the younger versions of the main characters. While such displays may have been more common historically, it felt unnecessary and uncomfortable to witness in a TV show.
  
  The plot development left much to be desired, with inconsistent pacing and numerous plot holes that left me confused. The script lacked coherence and could not maintain my interest. There were times when the story dragged on and others when it felt rushed. It's a shame because the emphasis on art and painting in the competition scenes was intriguing.

  In conclusion, "Lovers of the Red Sky" falls short of being an average quality drama. It feels ridiculous, boring, and lacks the necessary elements for an engaging storyline. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on it. Put it in the "use me" box and move on to something better.

The typical villain motive of seeking power added to the predictability of the plot. The second male lead, who falls in love with the female lead, was the only character I felt attached to. Despite having chemistry and treating her well, he doesn't get the girl because he wasn't the destined one, which was disappointing.
