Okay, so here's the deal with this movie. I was really hyped up to watch it because I heard it was going to be super thrilling. But let me tell you, I ended up feeling frustrated the whole time. Like, seriously annoyed. And it wasn't just one thing, it was everything from the main character to the side characters.
One major thing that drove me crazy was how everyone in the movie seemed to be so stupid. I get that the movie wanted to show how...
insensitive society can be towards people with disabilities, but come on, no one can be that clueless, right? The girl is in danger, being chased by a blood-covered man, and because she's deaf and has trouble speaking, everyone just thinks she's crazy. I mean, seriously, shaking my head.
And don't even get me started on how nobody helps her. It's like they totally undermine her because she's handicapped. Every time she tries to communicate something, it's like her words are invalidated and ignored. Her mother kinda senses that something's off, but she just brushes it aside. Ugh, so frustrating.
Plus, everyone in this movie is so easily fooled. Seriously, anyone can come up and say they're related to me, and people will believe it? It's just too much to handle.
Oh, and let's not forget about the mother. She had a chance to end everything at the police station, but she just didn't think it through. She could've made a noise or thrown the bad guy's stuff on the floor, but instead, he ends up killing everyone there. Like, really? How did she not see that coming?
One more thing, how does this girl not sense when someone is right behind her? I mean, deaf or not, don't we all have that instinct when someone is creeping up on us? It just doesn't make sense.
And here's a ridiculous thought. Don't cars stop when there are people jumping onto the road? I thought they had brakes for a reason. I guess not in this movie.
Okay, here's the one positive thing I can say. The actor who played the psycho was incredibly good. Like, scarily good. He was the one thing that kept me somewhat entertained.
Sorry if this review doesn't make much sense, I'm just too irritated to properly express my feelings. By the way, if you want to watch something similar but actually good, check out the movie "HUSH." Trust me, it's way better.
