Summary:

At the dawn of the Republic of China, within the confines of a secluded and traditionally patriarchal hamlet - known as Safety Valley - the custom of men overpowering women is deeply rooted in the antiquated and chauvinistic feudal beliefs of the community. Into this conservative setting comes a progressive couple, their minds enlightened by Western ideologies. They return to their natal village of Safety Valley with the lofty ambition of reforming and revitalizing their place of origin.

However, their ideals are met with stiff resistance as they face the inevitable clash between the entrenched old-world views and their own modern perspectives. As they navigate through numerous obstacles, they find themselves caught up in a perplexing and sinister case involving the specter of a ghost bride - a murder mystery that shakes the very foundation of the village.

Beneath the surface of this chilling kidnapping and murder plot lies a covert network of women. These women, long suppressed by the domineering men of the village, have clandestinely banded together. Emboldened by shared experiences of oppression, they embark on a campaign of vengeance, seeking justice for themselves and their sisters in suffering.
