Summary:

In an ancient realm, a modest civil servant finds himself entangled in a web of supernatural conflicts far beyond his bureaucratic duties. His world is turned upside down when an attempted arrest of a minstrel results in the unintentional death of a malevolent monk's adopted offspring. Unbeknownst to our unlikely hero, his fate is intertwined with battling the otherworldly terrors that plague his land.

His heart, however, yearns for mundane happiness—specifically, uniting in matrimony with the woman he adores, an aspiration seemingly at odds with his destiny. In a deceitful stratagem, the vengeful monk dispatches his disciple, cleverly disguised, to ingratiate themselves with the hapless minstrel, forging an uneasy proximity to our protagonist.

Encircled by danger and deception, our hero is often shielded from harm by a stalwart ally with extraordinary skills, whose timely interventions are as mysterious as they are lifesaving.
