So there's this TV series about a love story with a hopping vampire. When these hopping vampires show up in town, who do you call? The Vampire Cleanup Department, of course! This show is a Hong Kong production and it features a mix of older actors from the golden era of kung fu movies, as well as some younger talent.

The series has a few gruesome scenes here and there, but overall, it's more of a lighthearted romance and coming-of-age story about vampire wranglers. The main...

character, Tim, witnesses a vampire attack and ends up getting bitten. But strangely enough, he doesn't transform into a vampire and instead gets recruited by the Vampire Cleanup Department (VCD). During a mission outside of town, he accidentally transforms a water vampire back into her original form. This vampire, named Summer, appears normal but can only communicate through the phone she had swallowed and hops around like the other vampires.

Instead of following orders and cremating Summer at VCD headquarters, Tim decides to hide her nearby. The story then focuses on him training her to be more human. And guess what? Tim becomes a kung fu master in no time, thanks to all that sweeping he does at VCD. Trouble arises when he clashes with his trainers because he wants to help the vampires instead of killing them. To make matters worse, another agency gets involved and tries to steal Summer, intending to capture her maker, a dangerous vampire landlord.

I was super excited to see Toad Venom Lo Meng playing one of the fight trainers in this series. He's a veteran actor who's known for his roles in martial arts movies. Yuen Chueng Yan, known for his work as a martial arts director, plays the priest who provides the amulets. And then there's Chin Siu Ho, who started his martial arts training at a young age and plays the toughest trainer of them all.

Richard Ng plays the director in charge of tech support and cremation, while Babyjohn does a great job as the naïve trainee who falls in love with a partially transformed hopping vampire. Lin Min Chen portrays Summer and brings a gentle quality to her character as she learns more about being human. However, she wasn't given many challenging acting moments.

For a TV series in this genre, the quality of the CGI, vampire effects, and fight scenes were actually pretty good. Thankfully, the humor wasn't too over-the-top slapstick either. The only downside is that at only minutes long, the series tried to tackle too many things and left some plot points unresolved or thinly explored. But all in all, it's a nice little Hong Kong hopping vampire story with a surprisingly heartfelt core.

Once upon a time, in the realm of entertainment, I found myself faced with a daunting challenge. It was a test of my perseverance, of my dedication to the art of storytelling. And the challenge, my friends, was to immerse myself in the world of vampire films.

Now, let me make one thing clear. Vampires, to me, were always a rather low priority on my ever-expanding list of must-watch genres. Yet, with determination in my heart and a sense of adventure in my soul, I dove...

headfirst into the abyss of a particular movie that promised to be unlike any other.

Expecting the usual clichés and tired tropes, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a unique twist in this tale. The vampire hunters, believe it or not, masqueraded as nothing more than humble cleaning agents. Armed with their makeshift gadgets and a burning desire to rid the world of these hopping, zombie-like creatures, they embarked on their perilous and unconventional journey.

However, as the story unraveled before my eyes, I must confess that excitement eluded me. The action, though sporadic, struggled to ignite the spark of exhilaration within me. Yes, there were moments of humor scattered throughout, injecting a dose of light-heartedness into an otherwise serious narrative. But alas, it fell short of achieving the coveted status of a full-blown comedy.

Yet, I persevered, dedicating my precious time to this cinematic endeavor. And in truth, it did possess a certain charm on lazy afternoons. A sense of familiarity, perhaps, that made it a comforting companion when the world outside was dulled by the lethargy of a lazy day.

So, my journey reached its conclusion, and with it, I accomplished my mission to conquer the vampire film challenge. It may not have been an extraordinary experience, but it served its purpose. And who knows, perhaps in the vast universe of entertainment, someone else will find solace and fascination within its world. For now, though, it remains an unremarkable notch on the belt of my cinematic escapades.
