Summary:

Tin Lik, a bandit's progeny, finds herself entangled in a twist of fate as she weaves herself into the fabric of the Ling family. In a frantic escape from the law's persistent pursuit, she stumbles upon the conveyance meant to deliver a bride to her wedding – only to discover the intended bride has fled with a lover. Desperate to evade capture, Tin Lik seizes the opportunity to assume the absent bride's identity.

As she adjusts to her new role, Tin Lik finds her mother-in-law, Hei Tap Lap, to be a formidable and ferocious presence within the household, their interactions often escalating into fiery disputes. Caught between these tempestuous forces is her husband, Ning Mao Chun, who must navigate the delicate balance of pleasing both the strong-willed matriarch and his spirited, newlywed wife. The domestic battlefield sees him play the peacemaker, attempting to harmonize the discord between two of the most important women in his life.
